Management Team
Emmy Kane, CEO/President
Emmy has diverse experience with environmental consulting and business development. A Seattle native, she joined the company in 2017 and is focused on growing our relationship-based business model and developing our strategic alliances with industry leaders, to deliver comprehensive business solutions to environmental issues nationwide. She specializes in services including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, hazardous materials surveys (asbestos and lead-based paint), construction air monitoring, and indoor air monitoring. She also manages several of the company’s on-call contracts for state and municipal agencies and has implemented a client-focused approach to project management that applies the firm’s core principles to ensure client’s expectations are exceeded.
Emmy earned her BA in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton. Emmy is an Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Certified Building Inspector and an AHERA Certified Asbestos Management Planner.
She represents the company in the industry and is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers and the Northwest Environmental Business Council.
John R. Kane, Principal
John has over 35 years of experience in the environmental services industry. He began his career as a senior geologist and project manager at SAIC, a Fortune 500 company recognized as a global leader in environmental management. In 1994, he joined Environmental Partners as Principal and Senior Geologist responsible for Phase I due diligence projects for commercial/industrial sites and mergers and acquisitions.
In 2000, John founded Kane Environmental to provide business solutions to improve the environmental, social, and economic health in communities across the US. John earned his BS in Geosciences from Hobart College and his MBA from Western Washington University.
He is a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Seattle Chamber of Commerce, Northwest Environmental Business Council, North Seattle Industrial Association, Manufacturing Industrial Council, the Associated General Contractors of Washington and is a Board Member with CleanTech Alliance.
Eric Nassau, Southwest Operations Manager
Eric has over 20 years of experience conducting field sampling and chemical analysis of water, soil, and soil vapor, for Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. He has expertise in soil and groundwater remediation and has worked on several projects involving groundwater compliance sampling, soil sampling, and excavation. Eric has 8 years of experience managing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments nationwide.
Eric earned his BS in Environmental Studies from The Evergreen State College and his MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington. He participated in a joint UW and UC-Berkeley project, funded by Chevron, investigating use of earthworms in the remediation of crude oil contaminated soils. Duties included running laboratory scale crude oil degradation studies, extraction and analysis of crude oil in soil samples by GC-FID.
He is a member of the National Associate of Industrial and Office Properties.
