The Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) process is designed to determine the nature and extent of contamination, assess the possible risks, and evaluate remediation methods that will achieve an agency’s cleanup goals.

Kane Environmental frequently performs CERCLA site investigations, characterizations, and remedial designs for federal land management agencies nationwide.

We bring several areas of knowledge to CERCLA projects. Kane Environmental recently completed a site investigation at a shooting range for the US Fish and Wildlife Service using a field X-ray fluorescence (XRF) detector and pre-designed sampling grid for screening heavy metals concentrations as a cost- and time-saving measure to identify areas of concern for potential cleanup. Kane Environmental has delivered CERCLA services for various phases of the process for the National Park Service at former waste disposal areas and dump sites. Our CERCLA experience also encompasses Phase I Environmental Site Assessments under the All Appropriate Inquires (AAI) Rule and the most current American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard (ASTM E1527-21). All of our CERCLA projects involve creating work plans, site-specific Health and Safely Plans, and Quality Assurance Project Plans, ensuring our commitment to safety and quality assurance/quality control as a priority for every project.
